Reanalysis of the Sydney Harbor RiverCat Ferry

In this paper, we revisit the hydrodynamics supporting design and development of RiverCat class catamaran ferries operating in Sydney Harbor since 1991. More advanced software is used here. This accounts for transom demisterns that experience partial or full ventilation, depending on vessel speed. ventilation gives rise to hydrostatic drag, which adds total drag vessel. The presence also creates a hollow water. causes an effective hydrodynamic lengthening vessel, leads reduction wave resistance. Hence, detailed analysis required order optimize size transom. It demonstrated generation can be predicted with good accuracy. Finally, further by means affine transformations hull geometry.
